How to update Google Chrome

Last updated: February 20, 2024

Knowing how to update Google Chrome is wise because Google updates its Chrome web browser regularly. Chrome is available for use on Windows (7, 8, 8.1, 10, 11), macOS, and Linux operating systems, and for Android and iOS mobile operating systems. Chrome was first released in December 2008. According to StatCounter Global Stats, Google Chrome is the world’s most widely used web browser.

Chrome is a light-weight and fast web browser.  It uses a minimalistic user interface, such as the combination of the web browser’s address bar and search field into a single field called the omnibox.  As a user types into the omnibox, previously visited sites, search results, and search suggestions will display.  Chrome includes a form Autofill feature so you can choose to complete online forms with a single click.  Personalization and customization options include Chrome themes, apps, and extensions.
