Analyze your webpage design with a free mobile-friendly test from Google. A mobile-friendly website design is one that would render your webpage as easy-to-read and easy-to-use on tablets, phablets and smartphones. This would include minimizing or eliminating the need for excessive scrolling and zooming for mobile users to navigate your site.
If the rapid increase in Internet access from mobile devices wasn’t motivation enough to have a responsive website design, consider Mobilegeddon. Mobilegeddon is the term used to describe the recent change to Google’s search algorithm. Google describes the reason for the change, which began on April 21, 2015, in this Google Webmaster Blog Post:
We’re boosting the ranking of mobile-friendly pages on mobile search results. Now searchers can more easily find high-quality and relevant results where text is readable without tapping or zooming, tap targets are spaced appropriately, and the page avoids unplayable content or horizontal scrolling.
Also, back in November, 2014, Google began adding a Mobile-friendly label to its mobile search results.
Enter a URL to test
